4 month old update

Adam is now about 4 in a half months old. He is such a calm and happy baby, which is the opposite of what Audrey was. She was always more fussy and more demanding, but sweet at the same time. I have always just considered her my high maintenance girl. Adam has started to hit some of those baby mile stones and it is so exciting. He can roll onto his sides now and from his tummy to his back and is working hard to go from back to tummy. He can sit up for a little while now and I think that is because he just sits on his own chub, but he is really strong as well. He can also stand for about thirty seconds to two minutes when leaning on something like the bath tub, or a table. I took him to his four month appointment the other day and he weighs 15lbs 5oz and is 60% of his weight. I can't remember exactly how tall he was , but he is about 75% for his height and for his head. I told the dr. that he still sleeps a lot, but the dr. said he was not surprised at the rate he is growing and that he is starting to do things a six month old is doing. That made me excited to know he is already reaching some of those mile stones early, because maybe he will walk and crawl sooner. I will post a video of him standing later.=) It is nice having a solid baby this time around, because Audrey was so scrawny compared to Adam and only weighed about 161bs 5oz when she was one, such a difference compared to her brother.

Adventures in Primary

We just got called to Primary to teach children ages 5-6. Sean had quite the experience for his first day yesterday and his little angels turned out to be little monsters, but in his words little hellions. I will try to quote from his story as best as possible, so here it goes. I let him teach primary by himself yesterday, because Audrey needed to stay home because she has a cough and cold. He said during the primary when all the children were combined the two little girls in his class were perfect little angels. In the back of his mind he thought oh this should be easy, because the girls were behaving so well. Anyways, when he brought them into class the girls started being sassy right when they walked through the door, by saying we are not sitting on chairs. We are sitting on the floor, so they did. Sean said he literally had to ask them questions every five seconds, just to keep them entertained. He said that he had a church video and the girls immediately were against it and said if it was a church video they would not watch it. Sean turned on the video anyways and said that they got through a third of it. He said during class the girls decided it would be funny to have a screaming contest and they purposely tried farting a lot... poor guy, but I can't help and laugh about it. Also, the girls decided it would be funny to give Brother Young a new name. At first they asked can we call you "Brother Poo", he said "No", then the little girls said how bout "Brother Pee" He said No. The little girls said not like Pee, But like the letter P. He said no, but they called him Brother P the rest of class. Oh where has there innocence gone, during those moments you wonder. We love kids, but know they are difficult sometimes and look forward to our year in primary. Hope everyone has a happy new year!!

My beautiful Wife

I'm not the type who likes any type of PDA nor am I one to freely express my affection (much to the dismay of Megan, who is the total opposite. I'm very lucky). But as my wife and kids still sleep after spending most of the night sniffling, sneezing, coughing, and just being miserable, I decided I would get out of my comfort zone.
Megan is one of a kind. When I met her, she was spunky and very cute. I was a fresh RM and didn't know how to act around girls, but she decided she wanted to be my friend, so I let her. Good choice. It didn't take long before she became my best friend and I realized that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with her. We hadn't dated long and it really was a leap of faith deciding to marry her because of all the things I really didn't know about her and how our relationship would turn out, but I was stuck with the impression that if I didn't go after this one, I knew I would be looking back years from now thinking to myself how I could have possibly let such a beautiful and fun girl go. So I married her. I often get into conversations with other people who are my age and still dating that I wouldn't suggest doing what I did because of all the unknowns and you really should get to know a person better and for a longer period than I did, because it's scary and it's the rest of your life. I will admit that if I were to go back and do it all over again, I would have dated longer. The chances of divorce, separation, or having a very difficult and sometimes miserable marriage after having only dated for a short time is significantly increased. However, I lucked out. I will admit we've had some hard times. Our first year of marriage was fine, better than we had expected. Our second year was more difficult with having the stress of a new baby, no income, full-time school, etc. But since then, every single day of my life I love her more than I did the previous day. Including today. I could not have found a more perfect fit for me (I don't know if I can say the same thing about me for her). Not only is she gorgeous, a fantastic wife, a great mother (she gave me two really dang cute ones, by the way, as evidenced by the pictures), and fun, the thing that I love about her just as much as anything is that she lets me be me. She doesn't try to change me, she doesn't tell me I can't do the things that I love to do (going fishing, visiting my best friend in Sandy for an entire day to play basketball and just hang out... getting the "me" time, watching pretty much every Jazz and BYU game, and so on). I don't think I am as good at it as her. I try to let her go do things with other people while I watch the kids, but what surprises me is that most of the time, she would rather stay home and be with me. I love that. She loves me, adores me, and puts me first. I'm not sure a lot of guys are as lucky as me. She's all that I could have ever asked for. I love you, Megan. I just thought everyone else should know, for once, how I felt.

Three months old and my silly three year old

Adam is now three months old and has grown up so much already it is hard to believe. He is such a happy baby and smiles all the time. He has started giggling recently and it is the cutest thing ever. Lately he likes to bat at toys with his hands and suck on his fingers. He can hold his head really steady now instead of it flopping all over the place when he was just a newborn. Also, he can be laying back on a propped up pillow and bring himself to a sitting position for a second. Yesterday, I was holding his hands and he would be sitting down and bring himself to a standing position for a couple of seconds. He is one strong baby!
Audrey is my little miss independent lately. She wants to do everything for herself and if I try to do it she says " no" and does it herself anyways. She is a big Dora fan right now and I just bought her a Dora bedspread yesterday and she has been wanting to lay in bed ever since. Audrey is so friendly and loves playing with kids and seems to make friends everywhere we go. I love that she is not shy and that she is doing really well socially. It will help when she starts in Preschool and Kindergarten in a couple of years.

Here is a cute video of Audrey from Halloween. This is her impression of a whistle. It is pretty funny! So watch it. =)

Happy Birthday!!

Happy Birthday to my wonderful husband Sean! He is 27 today! It is crazy to think he was 21 years old when we first met and all the time that has past. Sean is just finishing up his Bachelors degree in Nursing and has worked so hard to get to this point in his life. I'm so proud of him, for his perseverance, ambition and achievements. Sean is such a good guy and one of the nicest people I know. If you ask him to do something he never says no and just does it and is very helpful. He loves his family and takes very good care of us and makes sure we are happy. I could not ask for a better companion, because he completes me in every way and measures up to more then I ever imagined having in my life. Sean loves and adores his kids and likes to have his one on one time with them, even though life keeps him busy he makes time for them. Thanks, for being the person that you are. We love you!!

Two week old pics of Adam

Well Adam is now 2 months old and is weighing in at 11 lbs 15 oz! I must say he has quite the appetite... He is 75 % for his weight, 50% for his height and head circumference. Also, Audrey just had a birthday on October 19th and is now 3 yrs old!!!! I will post more about her birthday later. But for now I will just post some pics from when Adam was two weeks old and some of Audrey as well.

These pictures were taken by Sean's missionary friend Travis Richardson. He does an amazing job. His website is Travisjphotographyblog.com. We're planning on getting family pictures soon as, if you take a look, you can tell will be awesome.

One month old

Time goes by so fast! Adam is now one month old and has grown rapidly. He fits into his zero-three month clothes now and I think he will be in three to six month clothes in no time. He loves to eat and always seems to be hungry!! He is also a great sleeper and that has been really nice when night time rolls around. I have to say that having a second baby is not as hard as I thought it would be and I love having one around. He is such a sweet little guy and even grins at us from time to time. Audrey has adjusted surprisingly well and loves to give her little brother kisses on his fore head, give him his blanket, or put his binkey in his mouth. She gets a little jealous sometimes when I am holding him, but gets over it fast. We try to give her lots of love and attention and play with her all the day long. One thing funny about Adam is he grunts a lot and I mean a lot, for no apparent reason. One thing sad about him is he has clogged tear ducts and his eyes are constantly watery and goopy. Which causes his eyelids to be stuck together and then he cannot open his eyes. I wipe his eyes with a warm wash cloth several times a day and that seems to help for a little while. Audrey had clogged tear ducts when she was a baby, but very mildly and it only lasted a few days. Hopefully Adam's tear ducts will clear up soon.... Besides that we are grateful to have a healthy little boy. Here are couple of pictures from yesterday. More pics to come! Enjoy!!

Introducing Adam 2.0

So, two weeks ago we had a baby... well, not we... Megan did. My part is long been done. On August 28, Adam Moylen Young came into the world a quiet pink and blue 6 lb 13 oz definite boy. He was quiet because he had some respiratory problems where his alveoli wouldn't adequately open quick enough so they kept him in close watch at the nursery. About 3 hours later, after giving him a bath, he pinked up, breathed better, and was ready to come back to mommy. Megan went about 6 hours after labor induction without the epidural (she thought she could go natural... bad idea). She progressed really slow until after she got the epidural and the doc came and broke her water. Then things moved real fast and she actually only had about 5 minutes of real actual pushing out the baby stuff. Recovery was much better this time around, despite the fact that Megan didn't sleep for nearly 48 hours straight (those dang nurses have GOT to be quieter at night). We were very grateful to family members for helping out with Audrey, especially my sister, Heather, who spent both days and nights babysitting Audrey at home while I stayed with Megan at the hospital. Audrey adores her aunt Heather, so it was a good matchup. In any case, Mommy and baby are doing great, Audrey seems to be adjusting okay, and I am now a little less lazy. I'll post some pics now, since that's what you really opened the blog up for, not this whole great spiel I just put you through.

He is definitely a boy. And definitely one of ours.

Megan looks pretty good for just having had a baby.

This is aunt Heather, our lifesaver.

Audrey. She's cute.

Dad and Son.

This is my cousin, Adam Twede (hence the Adam 2.0 subject line), my life-long best friend to this day. I always knew I would name my first son after him and my cousin is the kind of person that you would be glad to name your child after. I had to convince Megan, though, and did so by agreeing that if we name this one Adam, then I was to let her name the rest of the kids anything she wants. Too bad she doesn't want any more kids anymore.

Adam standing up... kinda... not really...

And finally the siblings unite... almost.

There you have it.

Counting down

I am so excited that this pregnancy has almost come to an end! I went to the doctor's today and found out that I am dialated to a two. Yay!! It is so nice to know that baby Adam is almost here. I am 37 weeks and 4 days along, so hopefully he will come any time now. According to the ultrasound Adam is doing well and has a strong heartbeat. He is weighing in at about 6lbs 5oz. My doctor says that he is gaining about a half a pound a week, so he will probably be a good seven pounder. I am still really nervous to have a second child, but knowing with time I will adjust helps keep me positive about it.

Pregnancy update

I am now 37 weeks along, so just counting down the days for the arrival of our son. My last Doctor's appt. was a couple of days ago and the little guy weighed about 5lbs 11oz and looked healthy. Audrey always gets so excited to see my stomach and will kiss it and say baby Adam, so I'm hoping she understands that a baby is coming soon... I keep telling her that baby Adam will be coming soon and she perks up to the word baby, but I still think it will be quite the adjustment for her. Anyways, we are all doing well and I should post pics and longer blog later of our summer adventures and pregnant belly.
